It is up to all of us here at AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY to live these values: instructors, students, and the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY team. When we live these values, we continue to create a thriving, sustainable marketplace where anyone can truly learn anything online — and enjoy the process.
Who forms our community?
Students:
Our students come to AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY to experience engaging, high-quality learning where they have access to a diverse range of topics from real-world experts who actively practice these skills.
Instructors:
Our instructors are an inspiring group who love to teach. They join AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY because of the opportunity to reach learners around the world, and for access to the tools, platform, and support that help them build high-quality courses.
What are the ground rules?
a. Don’t spam
Students join AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY to have a safe and engaging learning experience, and instructors teach because they’re passionate about sharing knowledge. Instructors: Once you’re on the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY platform, don’t promote unrelated products or spam others with unsolicited offers or messages.
b. Don’t game the system
For instructors: Don’t direct AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY students away from the platform, look for loopholes, or push the boundaries of what’s allowed. We all benefit from a shared, active student community. Gaming the system undermines trust and harms everyone.
For students: Don’t harass instructors, request free coupons, or offer reviews in exchange for perks. Our community relies on genuine, respectful engagement and honest feedback to help others choose the right courses.
c. Keep it professional
Our instructors actively collaborate and communicate, and students and instructors engage in vibrant discussions throughout the learning journey. We ask everyone to communicate professionally, honestly, and respectfully with fellow students, instructors, and AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY staff. We are committed to keeping this platform free from harassment.
Be a positive member of the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY community: never request personal information, never make unsolicited or unwanted contact off-platform, and do not present unoriginal content as your own.
d. If you see something, say something
If you see or experience anything that appears to violate these guidelines, or if you’re unsure about a policy, please report it directly or contact us at policy@acfhacademy.org. Our team will carefully review every report to decide whether there has been a policy violation.
4. Trust & Safety FAQ – AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY
Why are there rules in the first place?
AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY is committed to ensuring that students enjoy a safe and engaging learning environment, while instructors are set up for success. Our rules exist to protect the quality of the student learning experience and to enable positive, respectful, and healthy interactions between instructors and students.
How will I be notified of a strike?
You’ll receive an email from policy@acfhacademy.org explaining the strike, the reason why you received it, and the consequences. We aim to be thoughtful and fair when determining if there’s a policy violation and how we apply consequences. You’ll have the opportunity to provide context, ask questions, and speak with someone on our team — we’re here to help.
Additionally, you may see that certain features have been disabled when you try to use them, along with a notification that your access to the feature has been temporarily suspended on some or all of your courses due to a policy violation.
What if my co-instructor has a strike and I remove them from my course?
If your co-instructor has a strike, then all courses taught by that co-instructor will be affected. Only the courses you share with the co-instructor will be impacted.
What if my co-instructor has a strike and I remove them from my course?
If you remove your co-instructor who has a strike, and you yourself don’t have a strike, your course will return to having all its features fully enabled.
How long are the strikes valid?
We re-evaluate the strikes on your account on a six-month rolling basis.
How are you monitoring and catching bad behavior?
We rely on reports from our students and instructors who contact us at policy@acfhacademy.org or flag abuse directly on the platform. In addition, our team proactively monitors on-platform activity and may reach out to students and instructors if we identify potential policy violations.
Does every instructor get Strike 0 to 4 or does it depend on the nature of the violation?
In most cases, instructors will experience a linear escalation: typically a warning followed by up to three strikes. If there are more than three strikes, we may remove access to AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY and un-list the instructor’s courses from the platform. However, for severe violations, we reserve the right to escalate consequences immediately.
5. Instructor Code of Conduct
As a global destination for online learning, AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY works to connect people through knowledge. To foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment, we expect instructors to maintain a high standard of conduct both on and off the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY platform, in line with our values. Together, we can build a truly safe, welcoming, and respectful space for everyone.
Instructors who are found to be engaging in, or censured for, activities that could negatively impact user trust will face a review of their account status. This includes, but is not limited to:
Criminal or harmful conduct
Hateful or discriminatory conduct or speech
Spreading disinformation or misinformation
When investigating allegations of instructor misconduct, AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY’s Trust & Safety Team will consider a range of factors, including:
The nature of the offense
The gravity of the offense
Related legal or disciplinary proceedings
Any demonstrated patterns of concerning behavior
The extent to which the conduct is connected to the individual’s role as an instructor
The life circumstances and age of the individual at the time of the offense
The time elapsed since the activity occurred
Demonstrated efforts made toward rehabilitation
We understand everyone can make mistakes. At AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY, we believe that anyone, anywhere, can build a better life through access to education. Any inquiries into instructor conduct handled by the Trust & Safety Team will focus on evaluating the ongoing impact and risks to learners and to the broader platform.
6. Escalation Process for Policy Violations
Our students and instructors are typically responsible, positive members of the community. We understand that everyone can make mistakes, and sometimes you may simply be unaware of the rules.
If an instructor violates a policy, they will first receive a simple warning. We will also provide resources to help them better understand our policies and be successful on AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY.
If we see further violations of any of our policies, there will be progressively more serious consequences in the form of “strikes.” The escalation process is as follows:
Warning → An email from Trust & Safety explaining the violation and our policies
Strike 1 → Suspension of announcement and direct messaging privileges for one month
Strike 2 → Courses blocked from active promotions for one month + suspension of announcement and direct messaging privileges for one month
Strike 3 → Courses blocked from new enrollments for one month + suspension of announcement and direct messaging privileges for one month
Ban → Account and course materials permanently removed from the platform
These strikes apply at the course level. All instructors and co-instructors associated with the course or courses in violation will see their features disabled for that specific course.
Please note: we reserve the right to escalate strikes based on the severity of the violation and the instructor’s past behavior. Strikes are re-evaluated on a six-month rolling basis, but instructors with an ongoing history of policy violations may ultimately face permanent removal from the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY platform.
When applying strikes or taking actions against accounts, AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY ensures that all decisions include an assessment of all relevant facts and circumstances available to us, and considers the rights and legitimate interests of all parties involved — including the fundamental rights of service recipients.
In the case of an account ban, instructors may submit an appeal within six months of our initial decision by replying to the email conveying the decision or by emailing policy@acfhacademy.org. Outside of that timeframe, appeals may not be considered.
We strongly encourage instructors to proactively review and follow AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY policies to maintain a positive and compliant presence on the platform.
7. Rules Against Manipulating or Influencing the Review System
It can be challenging to gather meaningful feedback on new courses, especially as a new instructor. You are welcome to ask for feedback — but it’s important to engage students appropriately and ethically.
Rules When Asking for Reviews
Instructors must not indicate what type of rating or review a student should leave, or suggest specific details to include.
Instructors may not dictate what medium students should use to express different types of feedback.
Instructors are strictly prohibited from trading reviews with other instructors.
Instructors must decline any offer from a student to provide a positive review in exchange for goods or services, and should report such offers.
Instructors must never attempt to systematically reward students for leaving positive reviews.
How to Ask for Reviews (Allowed Examples):
“Please give me feedback on my course by writing a review!”
“I really hope you found this course valuable, but either way, please leave a review and share your experience.”
“Tell me what you think! Write a review when you can. I’m also available for questions — send me a direct message anytime.”
How NOT to Ask for Reviews (Prohibited Examples):
“If you liked the course, please give me a 5-star review!”
“If you did NOT like the course, please send me a direct message instead of leaving a review.”
“I worked very hard on this course and I hope you’ll leave a positive review about your experience.”
“If you leave a (5-star) review, I’ll give you my next course free!”
Major Violations
The following activities are considered serious breaches of trust with AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY students and may result in permanent removal of the offending course and/or the instructor from the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY platform:
Purchased reviews (reviews given in exchange for money)
Incentivized reviews, including offers of free or discounted courses
Multiple reviews from a single source (e.g., one user enrolling multiple times)
Reviews generated by bots, scripts, or other artificial methods
When an instructor clearly acts against the spirit of AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY’s policies in an attempt to game the system — or when there’s a severe negative impact on the student experience — it will be considered a violation of our policies.

These communication tools are designed to increase student engagement and support learning. They are not intended to be used for marketing or selling to the AFRICAN CULTURAL FASHION HERITAGE ACADEMY community. We offer separate marketing tools that instructors may use for promotional purposes.
When instructors misuse communication tools, it can cause students to unsubscribe or disengage from the platform, which harms the entire community.
What are Communication Tools?
Educational Announcements:
These are used exclusively by instructors to provide educational content that supplements the course material. While instructors can include links to free, relevant educational content, announcements should not be used for marketing or promotions.
